Acura RL Sedans Recalled

December 18, 2007    Spanish
Honda has recalled 43,200 Acura RL sold in the U.S. because of a faulty power steering hose that could crack, leak fluid onto the catalytic converter and cause a fire.

Honda said that high temperatures under the hood of the Acura RL can cause the power steering hose to crack.

If power steering fluid leaks onto the catalytic converter a fire can result according to the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration.

Honda reports that no injuries or fires have resulted from the faulty hose however.

The recall affects Acura RL sedans from the 2005-2008 model years.

All of the recalled Acura automobiles were made in Japan.
