Porsche is recalling the mighty 911 GT3 sports car.
Only 37 cars are involved in the recall which involves the electrical system and instrument panel.
On certain 2-door coupe vehicles, the switch console for the Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) and the traction control switch was inappropriately installed, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) reports on its Web Site.
The switches can signal a functional change in the PASM mode or the deactivation of the traction control even though the switches are not activated," NHTSA said.
NHTSA is concerned that if the traction control or stability management system are inadvertently disabled and the warning light on the instrument panel goes unnoticed, the safety benefits of the systems will not be available should the driver need them and this can increase the possibility of a crash.
Porsche dealers will replace the switch free of charge in the high-horsepower sports car. Owners of the 37 GT3 street racers affected by the recall can call Porsche at 1-800-767-7243.
