Igloo Products is recalling about 7,200 Marine Elite coolers. Sharp edges on the stainless steel latch attached to the cooler can pose a laceration hazard to consumers.
Igloo Products has received eight reports of lacerations requiring stitches on the consumer's legs or arms.
This recall involves Marine Elite coolers sold in white with stainless steel latches. The coolers were sold in four sizes: 72 quart, 94 quart, 128 quart and 162 quart.
The coolers were sold at West Marine stores nationwide from January 2008 to July 2008 for between $80 and $375.
Consumers should stop using the cooler immediately and contact Igloo Products Corp. to receive a free latch replacement kit.
