2009 Jaguar XF Models Recalled

December 8, 2008
Jaguar is recalling about 3,700 XF vehicles from the 2009 model year to fix a problem with the instrument panel.

The company said that the speaker wires may fracture, causing the speaker to stop working.

If the speaker stops working, several audible notifications would fail, including the turn indicator, seat belt warning, driver's door open warning and seat memory. Without the audible warning, drivers might miss crucial information, possibly causing a crash.

Dealers will verify the speaker function and reconfigure the control module when the recall begins this month. Owners may contact Jaguar at 1-800-452-4827.

Consumers may contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY: 1-800-424-9153) or at www.safercar.gov.
