Jaguar is recalling about 15,000 2004 XJ models because of concerns about a possible condition that could affect the braking system.
The company said that a noise reduction pad fitted to the under tray could contribute to a build-up of water and dirt, which could lead to corrosion of the brake pipes, which could lead to the braking circuits failing, possibly causing a complete loss of braking.
Dealers will remove the pad and inspect the brake pipes for rust and corrosion. There will be no charge for the service.
