Lenovo is recalling the power adaptor used with ThinkVision soundbars. The plastic shell of the AC Adaptor can crack, posing a risk of electric shock to consumers.
Lenovo sold the AC adaptors as part of the ThinkVision Soundbar option. The FRU part number 89P8571 with date code 200810 is located on the back of the adaptor. The adaptors, made in China, were sold by Lenovo's Web sites, telephone and direct sales, and Lenovo authorized distributors nationwide from October 2008 through January 2009, as an accessory for about $30.
Consumers should stop using the recalled AC Adaptor and contact Lenovo to receive a free replacement part.
