Milestone Recalls TV Wall Mounts

January 27, 2009
Milestone AV Technologies is recalling about 140,000 LCD television wall mounts.

The wall mount can crack when used with televisions 26 inches and larger or with televisions that include a DVD player. The television can then fall from the wall mount and pose a serious risk of injury to consumers standing nearby.

Milestone is aware of 28 incidents in which the mount has cracked and the television has fallen from its mount. No injuries have been reported.

These wall mounts are used with flat screen LCD televisions. The recalled wall mounts are INIT models NT-TVM103 and NT-TVM104. The model numbers can be found on the UL sticker on the television interface.

The mounts, made in China, were sold at Best Buy stores nationwide from June 2007 through December 2008 for between $60 and $90.

Consumers should immediately stop using the wall mounts and contact Milestone to receive a free repair kit.

Call Milestone toll-free at (877) 277-3707 between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. CT Monday through Friday or log on to the companys recall Web site at www.milestone.com/initmount.

The recall is being conducted in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).
