Montessori N Such is recalling painted containers used in classroom instructional kits. Surface paints on the products contain excessive levels of lead, violating the federal lead paint standard.
The recall includes only the colors and item numbers listed below:

The containers, made in China, were sold by Montessori N Such through its catalog and Web site to schools and individuals nationwide from July 2006 through January 2009 for between $2.50 and $7 per item.
Consumers should immediately take the recalled products away from children and contact Montessori N Such for a free replacement or refund. All known purchasers have been contacted.
