General Motors is recalling about 35,000 Pontiac G8s from the 2008 and 2009 model years.
The company said the brake pedal position switch may have been incorrectly programmed, which could cause the brake lights to remain illuminated, thus failing to warn following drivers that the vehicle is braking.
Some vehicles may also have incorrect values programmed into the tire pressure monitoring system and could fail to warn drivers of low tire pressure.
Dealers will reprogram the brake position sensor and check the tire pressure monitoring system when the recall begins in June.
Owners may contact Pontiac at 1-800-620-7668 about GM Recall No. 09101 and 09046.
Consumers may contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY: 1-800-424-9153) or at www.safercar.gov.
