Volvo is recalling about 12,000 S80 cars from the 2007-2008 model years and XC70s from the 2008 model year.
The diagnostic software in the central electronic module may cause the windshield wipers to malfunction.
Dealers will inspect the module and upgrade the software free of charge. Owners may contact Volvo at 1-800-458-1552, or via email at customercare@volvoforlife.com about Recall No. R213.
